The Valley
Of Ashes
(MR)
The Valley of Ashes is an immersive installation that transforms recent real-world events into a navigable spatial archive. Using 3D scanning, I captured ephemeral artifacts shaped by natural disaster and social unrest. These digitally preserved scenes were translated into physical sculptures: modern still lifes that evoke the poetic and surreal sensation of walking the Las Vegas Strip as if it were Pompeii. Through Mixed Reality headsets, the concrete statues are augmented with photorealistic textures, allowing the objects to shift between fossil and evidence. Visitors are invited to move through the ruins like an archaeological dig, reflecting on the fragility of our civilization in the hopes of repairing it before it's too late.
